Starting July, I'll be posting four reveals to lead up to the final cover for book three. Excerpts soon thereafter. In addition to those fun bits, I'll be giving away some free books too. And... maybe news on an anniversary edition of Beautiful Death. Stay tuned!
Monday's another Bete Noire cover reveal (eh, maybe even a day early again... we'll see). And then later in the week I'll post Chapter 17.5, Beautiful Death's Lost Chapter--the first of many "lost chapters" of the Uruwashi Series.
Yep. I'm talking about book two already. Beautiful Death hasn't been out long, but I wanted to just let my readers know (you're out there somewhere) how the series is doing. So, book two of The Uruwashi Series is called Bete Noire and is done. And by done I mean, I've written it and given it a serious edit. Next step is to the beta readers, from there two or three more extensive edits and then publishing. All in all, I'd say late winter-early spring is a good estimation. I'll post a blurb once I'm done with that and the cover is nearly ready to share. Now, back I go to finishing the first draft of book three!
Still working on the last finishing touches to my manuscript. There's just little formatting bugs and such to work through. Looking at a date of October 14th for publication, but don't consider it as absolute, god knows what sort of issues I might run into last minute... If you haven't seen it already, I've updated the chapter sampler for Beautiful Death to include the first three chapters. Also, while you're at it, check out the music playlist for the book at GrooveShark. Rock on!
As of today, I'm done my last major edit of Beautiful Death. Yay! I've finally got the bastard formatted right too for print. Now all there's left to do is a final skim to make sure it looks good, maybe double check a certain foreigner's dialog (looking at you Desmond), go through some basic marketing things and I think I'll be ready to submit it for print. After that I've got no idea how long it will take to actually see the book released for paperback and eBook. I do have a special date in mind, but more on that when I can say for sure!
Well, I finally did it. Took a big leap in deciding to go indie with my urban fantasy series. I've been published before, in a much more niche market. Surprisingly, the "in" stuff seems harder to sell to agents. So here I am, on my own. But it's cool, I'm brave... enough. Today I finished up the site enough to get it live (duh, you're here) and did some other social things like facebook and twitter (see links at left top of page). So, um... here's to the start of a very long and exciting process. ^^
